Principal Investigator

Molly is a Cognitive Neuroscientist and Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department. She has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Speech & Hearing Sciences from the Ohio State University, earned her Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Northwestern University (PI: Joel Voss, PhD), and did a post-doc at Columbia University (PIs: Lila Davachi, PhD, & Joshua Jacobs, PhD).

PhD Student

Pouneh is a PhD student in Cognition and Cognitive Neuroscience. Her scientific journey began in physics and turned toward the human brain, driven by a fascination with the neural mechanisms underlying cognition and behavior. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics (Sharif University of Technology) and two master’s degrees, one in Medical Physics (Tehran University of Medical Sciences) and another in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology (University of Florida).
In the Hermiller Lab, she studies episodic memory across populations, including healthy older adults and individuals with mild cognitive impairment, using fMRI to examine brain networks, with a focus on the hippocampal memory network. She also uses network-targeted TMS to investigate its effects on hippocampal connectivity and memory performance. 

PhD Student

Ellee was an undergraduate research assistant Fall 2023-Spring 2024. Upon graduation, she began working full-time in the Hermiller Lab as a Lab Coordinator. Ellee is also actively pursuing her PhD in Neuroscience under the guidance of Molly Hermiller.

PhD Student

Anna is from Germany, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. She later worked at UNMC as a Study Coordinator before joining the lab in 2026 as a graduate student in Neuroscience.

Lab Manager

Madeline began in the lab as a participant of the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program from Fall 2023 - Spring 2024, continuing as an undergraduate research assistant through Spring 2026. Following graduation, she began working in the Hermiller Lab full-time as a Lab Manager.
